St. Joseph Hospital Welcomes New CNO

Eureka (September 11, 2012) – St. Joseph Hospital (SJH) has welcomed Carol Reeder, RN, BSN, MSA, as the hospital's new chief nursing officer. Reeder comes to Humboldt County with more than 35 years of administrative, clinical and consulting healthcare experience. In her new role, she will oversee all nursing units at SJH.

While serving as Interim CNO for St. Joseph Hospital for the last six months, Reeder initiated several programs that are already making a big impact. She has made very positive contributions to patient satisfaction as well as employee management. Reeder says she is excited to become the permanent CNO at SJH. She notes the compassion and excellent skills shown by St. Joseph Hospital nurses and staff as one of the reasons for her wanting to stay in Humboldt County.

Reeder brings strong skills in clinical quality improvement, patient care, regulatory compliance and cost management. She has a proven track record in change management, team building, leadership and staff development and mentoring.

She began her career focusing on women's and children's services. She expanded into other clinical areas including: perioperative services, emergency and critical services, general medical/surgical units, oncology, case/care management and home health. She also taught nursing in central Florida. Reeder received her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and her master's degree from Central Michigan University.
