Emergency Department - St. Joseph Hospital
St. Joseph Hospital operates a full-service, 24-hour Emergency Department staffed by emergency medicine physicians and specially trained and certified emergency care nurses. The hospital's Emergency Department treats more than 25,000 patients each year, and serves as a resource hospital to the community.
We attempt to treat all patients as quickly as possible. On most occasions we allow families and friends to visit with patients during their evaluation. Let your nurse know if you have family or friends in the waiting room. We will keep them informed of your progress, as necessary.
If you have a private physician who has been treating you, please let us know when you register. We will send your doctor a copy of the completed Emergency Room record. If you do not have a physician, we will be happy to refer you to a doctor who can provide follow-up care.
The Emergency Department Physician will discuss all available test results with you. We encourage you to call back if you have questions regarding your medical problem. We are available to answer your questions 24 hours a day regarding your visit.
The St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Department is available to evaluate and treat any workplace injury. Because the full services of the hospital are immediately available, there will be no risky delays if the injury turns out to be more serious than you first thought. This is especially important for injuries to the head or back.
